Nepal 2010

Main Trip for 2010

We aim to repeat the success of our 2008 trip by taking a large party to Nepal . Hopefully we will have runners, budding climbers and lots of normal people who just want a good walk with interesting people.  This will be our big expedition of the year.

Everest Region trek

The main party will walk in from Jiri on the original classic route.   This provides good acclimatisation time and avoids some of the crowds.  There will be a variety of side trip options available on the way to Everest Base Camp.

Climbing Option

Lobuche East is one of the more challenging trekkers peaks.

Runners Option

The highest official marathon in the world runs from below Everest BC at Gorak Shep (5,140m) to Namche Bazar.  We plan to run an informal marathon from Kala Patter (5,550m and one of the best Everest viewpoints) to Namche Bazar.

Adventure Challenge

Various side trips will provide enough optional challenge for most.  The Renjo and Cho La passes in particular will appeal to alpine trampers, while the Barahbise - Shivalaya side trip will give runners an early chance to stretch out.

Register now

This trip will be shaped by the participants - so register now. Departure October 2010, price dependent on options.

Antarctica February 2010

Spirit of SydneyThis trip is definitely on and departs New Zealand on 7 February. The current trip is 28 days and involves sailing both ways, but an option to return by Adventure ship is likely to be offered.

The thought of sailing the Drake Passage can sound a bit scary, but our group of novice sailors who did this in December 2007 all regard it as the trip of a lifetime.  It will never be cheaper than this year.

More information on the Antarctica Page.

Patagonia Kayak and Sail

Want to kayak in the ice but feel the Drake passage is a step too far? We are offering a two week sail and kayak trip in the Patagonian fiords for $6,900. Price includes airfares from Auckland, kayak hire and full board.

The trip departs March 23 2010 and is suitable for a family (we have a 15 year old booked on already.  More information on Patagonia trips.

Samoa 2010

We have had a great year biking around Samoa and are looking forward to many more trips next year.  Dates and prices have still to be finalised as we are looking to incorporate a few changes, making the trips slightly longer and possibly offering some nights in air conditioned accommodation. The first trip for 2010 is already full, More information on Samoa trips.
